Peace, security, harmonious development and human rights are closely related. Firstly, peace and security are premise and precondition for the insur-ance of human rights. It is obvious that when human beings continue to be threat-ening by wars, conflicts and chaos, their right to life is faint and insecure, and other human rights would not be fully respected or protected. On the other hand, peace and security are foundation for everyone to pursue his or her own objectives. In other words, in a society where peace and secu-rity are maitained, people will have oppor-tunity to enjoy their human rights and to affirm their own ego.  相似文献

Human rights are the fundamental rights. The right to environment is derived from human rights. The right to life lies in the central core of human rights. Without a sound environment it would not be possible to sustain an acceptable quality of life or even life itself. The right to environment therefore originated in the right to life, but transcends lite. Thus it is a new human right of modern times.  相似文献

The human rights education is an educational activity aimed at cultivating the sense of respect-ing human rights. International organizations, non-government organizations (NGOs), the State, local groups, families, schools, communities and citizens all have their respective and irre-placeable roles in it, while the State is the main body responsible for promoting human rights education. At a time when human rights have walked out of scholars' studies and statues of constitutions and laws towards society and life. That is to say, at a time when the slogan of human rights is materialized, there arise some outstanding questions such as: Who are to be the educators? Who are to be educated? What should be taught? How is the education conducted? This article is to present an initial analysis of the issues associ-ated with the State as the major actor in human rights education.  相似文献

On March 30. 2004, the Information Office of the State Council of China issued a white paper entitled Progress in China's Human Rights Cause in 2003. This is the seventh white paper ever published by the Office to expound China's human rights conditions and its views since 1991, when it first issued Human Rights in China. Based on solid facts, the latest Chinese white paper on human rights, as well as the previous ones, elaborates convincingly the efforts made by the Chinese government to promote and protect human rights and progress in China's human rights conditions, refuting the alleged "China's backsliding in human rights" made up by the US government.  相似文献

What is summarized as"harmony is of paramount importance" is a most prominent philosophical approach embraced by China's Confucian culture. This is an extension of the approach summarized as "the people are of paramount importance." It calls for harmonious human relations, obliging one to respect others' rights and interests while protecting the rights and interests of one's own. Harmony as a philosophical approach manifests itself, in many ways, in the realm of human rights in China today. To name just a few: the country's political system of multi-party cooperation under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, harmony that prevails between different religions in the country, and the country's call for international dialogue and cooperation to promote the human rights cause. As a fine Chinese tradition, this philosophical approach is being carried forward.  相似文献
