A note on Palestine

Political dynasties seem to flourish in Asia, whatever the political system. But this is not a relapse into traditional rule. Political dynasties are modern hybrids in which elite political aims are linked to popular norms of charismatic legitimacy. They are found in non-democratic regimes, electoral democracies and democratic movements, providing key advantages in a context of weak institutions or institutional decay. The author's detailed analysis of the situation in countries as varied as North Korea and India, Singapore and Thailand, Japan and the Philippines, shows that the descendents of charismatic leaders play a major role in politics in Asia. For they are often the key to the survival of a regime, a party or a movement.     

代际差异对员工行为的影响研究:“80后”与“80前”的对比

不同年代出生的员工可能会出现不一致的行为倾向。"80后"在我国是一个特殊的群体,公众和学术界给他们打上了"缺乏责任感"、"自私"、"以自我为中心"、"叛逆"等印记。本文通过35家企业的问卷调查,发现"80后"员工与"80前"员工在组织公民行为和反生产行为的确存在代际差异,但是结果却与常识大相径庭:"80后"员工的组织公民行为显著高于"80前"员工;"80后"员工的反生产行为显著低于"80前"员工,其中人际偏离维度也显著低于"80前"员工。研究结果有助于打破管理者对"80后"员工的刻板印象,更好地调动他们的工作积极性。

公司的管制与自治是公司法的基础理论问题,管制意味着股东意思自治的空间较小,而自治则意味着股东享有较大的意思自治空间。进一步看,管制分为事前与事后两种模式,结合公司法的立法目的,需要放宽和减少事前管制,但同时又必须强化事后管制。

基因沉默的研究进展

基因沉默(genesilencing)是指生物体中特定基因由于种种原因不表达或者表达减少的现象。基因沉默发生在两种水平上,一种是由于DNA甲基化、异染色质化以及位置效应等引起的转录水平上的基因沉默;另一种是转录后基因沉默。RNA干扰(RNAi)是一种新发现的通过dsRNA介导的特异同源靶基因途径,RNAi的应用有望成为一种防治疾病的新方法。     

体视学技术在医学影像学中的应用及其法医学价值

基于Cavalieri原理的体视学技术经常运用在组织学和病理学的研究中,但是现在,这种技术已经被运用于医学影像学(如CT、MRI、ECT、超声等)的测量。体视学的方法提供了一个非侵入性的、精确的、无偏的、简单的和快速的测量方法。所以该方法在医学影像学的形态计量学的测量中有临床使用价值。而影像资料的定量测量结果则有助于法医学实践。     

Challenging Civil Contempt: The Limits of Judicial Power in Cases Involving Journalists

Despite their assertion of a First Amendment or common law reporter's privilege in federal courts, journalists continue to face jail sentences and exorbitant fines for refusing to divulge their confidential sources when subpoenaed. Efforts to pass even a limited federal shield law have failed so far. This article offers another avenue to protect journalists—examining the roots of contempt law and policy to highlight limits on the contempt power of judges. It argues that because journalists are part of a group resting on steadfast moral and professional convictions, they may validly argue that confinement and excessive fines are improper sanctions. The article also suggests refinements in shield law proposals and other legislation to clarify the extent of judicial contempt power.
