论新经济法体系——关于适应社会主义市场经济需要的经济法体系的若干问题

<正> 经济法的体系问题是经济法的基本理论问题中研究得最不够的问题之一。对此,大有深入 研究的必要,特别是我国正在加快步伐建立社会主义市场经济体制的时候,对于适应社会主义 市场经济需要的经济法体系的研究,更应该提到重要议事日程上来。 要搞清楚什么是新经济法体系,必须了解什么是经济法体系,以及它同经济法体 系这个概念容易混淆的一些概念之间的关系。因此,笔者从以下三个方面来论述新经 济法体系的概念问题:     

论社会主义市场经济法律体系——兼论社会主义市场经济法律体系与有中国特色社会主义法律体系的关系

<正> “依法治国,建设社会主义法治国家”,是邓小平理论的重要内容。要依法治国,建设社会主义法治国家,必须加强法制建设;要加强法制建设,必须以“加强经济法制建设”为重点;要加强经济法制建设,必须“加强经济立法”。加强经济立法的目标,是建立和完善“社会主义市场经济法律体系”。可见,建立和完善社会主义市场经济法律体系,是实行依法治国,建设社会主义法治国家的需要,是坚持邓小平理论的内在要求。但是,中国法学界对社会主义市场经济法律体系的研究还比较肤浅,在社会主义市场经济法律体系的概念、结构以及建立和完善社会主义市场经济法律体系的意义和对策等问题上,还存在着不少意见分歧。因此,对社会主义市场经济法律体系的研究亟待深入。     

Science serving justice: opportunities for enhancing integrity in forensic science in Africa

Forensic science is a unique discipline of applied science. At its core it is a science, yet finds its use in the application to cases that often go to a court of law. Practicing at the intersection of science and law poses distinct challenges, but also holds incredible potential in its ability to serve as a vehicle for integrity. The practice of forensic science in Africa is at a tipping point. Unchartered waters lie ahead for the continent and its forensic scientists. Often working in inadequately resourced environments, obstacles may seem insurmountable. As African forensic scientists, we can overcome these obstacles as we accept that we are connected and united in our goal to allow science to serve justice.     

Sampling and statistical considerations for the Suchey–Brooks method for pubic bone age estimation: Implications for regional comparisons

Although the Suchey–Brooks (SB) system is currently the most widely used method for age-at-death estimation from the pubic bone, the system continues to evolve through stepwise improvements. Since the system was developed from a pubic bone sample derived mainly from North Americans, it is unclear how well it performs on populations from other continents. During the last decade, studies of the SB system on pubic bone samples from local populations in Europe and Asia have indicated regional differences in the relationship between age and pubic bone development. However, these studies have for the most part followed different research protocols, which make comparisons between their results less meaningful. It would be most useful if future regional analysis of the SB system were done in a rigorous and uniform fashion, following standard procedures. In this paper, sampling and statistical considerations are outlined that hopefully will help to standardize research on the SB system.
