On the CPC's Research on Building a Harmonious Socialist Society

In keeping with the ideal of building a harmonious society and given the differences of history, condition, times, themes, and resources, the CPC is now striving to realize a new-type harmonious society. But the new characteristics and developmental trends of a new era should be carefully considered. This paper posits that three main dimensions should be taken into account. First, insofar as the philosophy and methodology are concerned, China has advanced from its "fighting philosophy" to "harmonious philosophy", from the idea of "being in revolution " to "being in rule" and "being in power and in service". Second, in terms of the goal and strategy, China has transformed from getting rich simultaneously with equalitarianism to the unbalanced strategy of development by following the principle of "efficiency first, fairness second", and to the "scientific view of development". Third, in terms of the institutional frame and its relevant work and based on the United Front, China has undergone the restructuring of economy from basic political structure to socialist market economy and the socialist harmonious society.
