浪沙淘尽始见“金”——老挝新华侨印象

在老挝语中,中国人的发音是"Jeen",音同于"金"。近十几年来,越来越多的中国人来到老挝这片神秘的土地上谋生或寻求发展,也给老挝带来了源源不断的"金"。这批定义为新华侨的群体在老挝社会中形成了一股新的力量,这势将成为华侨华人研究的一个关注点。近来,笔者有幸前往老挝一趟,对当地的新华侨有了初步的印象。

Big Sand before the Gold --the Impression on New Overseas Chinese in Lao

In the Lao language, the pronunciation of ＂Chinese＂ is ＂Jeen＂, as the Chinese pronunciation ＂gold＂. In recent years, more and more Chinese come to the mysterious land Laos, to make a living or to seek development. They brought the numerous gold （money） to Laos. The group, who is defined as the new Overseas Chinese, formed a new force in Laos society, which will become a focus of the researches on overseas Chinese. Recently, I went to Laos and got a preliminary impression on the new local overseas Chinese.
