The First International Radiates as the first Party Natured International Workers＇ Organization

The International Workingmen~s Association established in 1846 is often called in history as the First International. From the inaugural address and general rules written by Marx, we can find that it is not an ordi- nary popular international workers＇ organization but the first party natured international workers＇ organization. It aims to promote the establishments of political parties for the working class in each country to lead the working class to seize political power and realize the liberation of the working class. The First International existed for 12 years. It greatly supported the struggles by workers in various countries for their own interests and the national liberation movements of the pressed nations. It enhanced the establishment of the Social Democratic Workers＇Party of Germa- ny as the first working class party and the Paris Commune as the first working class polity. It promoted victory of Marxism over various non-scientific socialist trends and the development of scientific socialism. Its historic status is as the bridge and engine for inheriting the legacies of the Communist League and forging toward the Second Interna- tional. To study the history of the First International has great practical significance today.
