Analyzing and Assessing the Report of Experiments in International Experimental Public Administration Research

In recent years,the use of experimental methods has been rising in public administration(PA)research.However,since no standards have been developed for the report of experimental methods in PA research,the reports of experiments in terms of what to report across experimental PA research appear inconsistent.This research aimed to examine and appraise the status quo of the reports of experiments in experimental PA research.Specifically,it proposed an analysis framework which consists of two dimensions:the reports of methods and the reports of results in the experimental research.In each dimension,it examined a number of items which are considered as the essential or recommendations to report in experimental research.Based on the analysis,it further offers suggestions for improvement in reporting experiments in experimental PA research.The findings of this research could help to improve communication efficiency and enhance communication effects of experimental PA research.They could also help to promote transparency and the form of reporting standards of experimental PA research.
