The Development of Police Powers to Stop and Search in England

As an important component of criminal investigation in UK,a series of important changes have taken place inpowers to stop and search during the last twenty years,which reflecting the orientation and extent of the reform of criminal investigation system and even whole criminal justice system in UK.Beginning with the Police and Griminal Evidence Act 1984,along with the later concerning acts,the thesis focuses on the main changes in the conditions and the procedure of performance of the powers to stop and search.
