On the Prison Type in China in the New Period

The overseas prison is divided differently according to age,gender,criminal self-characteristic,administrative jurisdiction,security,socialized degree executing,the patterns of ownership as well as its special function and its purpose.For better guaranteeing the legitimate rights of convicts,conducting effective supervision,and improving execution constantly,it ensures that the criminals could turn back to the society successfully.Combining present situation in prison development with analysis on the detain objects precisely,the paper suggested that prison type should be divided into detain-classification centre,reformatories for juvenile delinquents,prison for male offenders & female offenders,as well as for elderly,prison of medical care & transition.In addition,construction criterion is being clarified to take precautionary measures in accordance with various prison types so as to achieve the goals of reasonably and scientificly establishment of prisons.
