摘 要: | China Steps up Anti-Gambling Campaign In January 2005, China launched a 5-month govemment campaign to crack down on illegal gambling. The anti-gambling campaign is targeted at: agents in China for overseas casinos, gambling companies and gambling websites; organizers of gambling activities such as the Mark Six Lottery and soccer and horserace betting; casino bosses and gambling organizers; cadres and officials within the Party and other public servants and leaders of governmental organizations involved in gambling. It is reported that during Spring Festival 25 million yuan (US $3 million) in securities was seized at gambling venues in Henan Province, and that 292 Party members and cadres were prosecuted for gambling.
