Abstract:Mainland students studying in Taiwan are an emerging and special cross-border migratory group growing with exchanges and cooperation in higher education between Taiwan and mainland China. With the extension of their learning time the feeling that the mainland students have cherished about the society, economy, culture and education in Taiwan is getting more profound and stronger. On the whole, their positive attitude has helped them be more rational and objective in the cognition of the socialist system in mainland China and be more tolerant to the political system in Taiwan, thus holding a positive and appre- ciative attitude towards the soft power based on the social management system in Taiwan. Meanwhile, they are keenly aware of the differences in cross culture, education and values between Taiwan and mainland. It is no doubt, the paper believes, that the differences and particularity between the two sides will certainly bring some feeling of freshness to mainland students, and at the same time, cause, to some extent, some problems for their adaption of the society in Taiwan as well.
Keywords:Taiwan colleges and universities  mainland students  social adaptability  satisfaction
