Discussions on the Notion of Soul in Ancient Greek Philosophy

The notion of soul was expounded respectively by ancient Greek philosophers like Thales, Pythagoras, Herakleitos, Demokritos, Plato, and Aristotle. In their works, soul was defined in the perspective of matter,mind, motion, epistemology and subject. The definition of soul marked the starting-point in the study of the fundamental issues of philosophy. The notion of soul had thus become the fundamental issues of ancient Greek philosophy.
