1945年9月越南民主共和国诞生，到1992年越南第四部宪法的颁布，越南先后颁布了4部宪法。从宪法的本质来看，1946年宪法还不能算做真正的宪法；1959年宪法也是在南北分裂的情况下颁布的，并不完备；1980年越南在中越关系不正常时颁布了第三部宪法；中越关系正常化之后，越南又于1992年颁布了第四部宪法；2001年对1992年宪法又做了部分修订。从时间跨度上来划分，
