Anglo - American Special Relationship after the Cold War

After the Cold War, two main debates took place about the special relationship between the U.K. and the U.S.: one is whether the two states should give up the "special relationship "or keep it up, the other is whether the "special relationship" has been reinforced or desolated. The former debate is made mainly the in the U.K, especially between the "pro-Europeans" and "anti-Europeans". Although there exist some divergences in their bilateral relations and about a few vital international affairs, the "special relationship" has been reinforced in that the two states have continued and strengthened their strategic partnership.
