The Criminal Procedure Law clearly stipulates the citizen's obligations to give evidence. However, many witnesses' personal rights, property rights and other lawful right had been infringed brutally after giving evidences, and couldn't get the reasonable compensation following the incidents. To understand the rights and obligations of litigation, to advance requirement to keep secrets to grasp techniques to give evidence, to apply for the jurisdiction's protection, not to fear the brute force, not to seek infringement are necessary measures to protect the witnesses themselves.
