Civilization is the positive achievement in cultural development. The ones that corresponded to broad sense culture are material civilization, political civilization and spiritual civilization. It was spiritual civilization that corresponded to narrow sense culture. In contemporary China, it is unanimous in essence to develop advanced culture and build socialist spiritual civilization. They are all need to regard Marxism as guidelines, take it as the basic task to cultivate the national spirit, to promote ideological and ethical progress, to develop education and science, and to develop cultural undertakings and industry.
