广府籍华侨与孙中山革命党人——兼论晚清南洋华侨帮派对国内政治的态度

晚清时期,中国革命主张的提出和革命组织的发起,始于海外华埠。华侨是革命党的坚定支持者。清末华侨多因地域、方言、宗族纽带而聚合,华侨各帮对革命的态度差异较大。广府人领晚清中国开放和革命风潮之先,海外广府人绝大多数是华工为主的下层华侨,更具革命精神和反清意识,加上孙中山是广府人,海外广府人即成为孙中山最坚定的支持者。

Overseas Cantonese Chinese and Sun Yat sen:A case of different attitudes of Southeast Asian Chinese towards 1911 Revolution

The revolutionary propaganda and organization in late Qing period all came from overseas Chinese who had been the solid supporters for Sun Yat Shen. Since the overseas Chinese societies were very separated by these different ori- gins based on dialects, kinship and even worship, their attitudes toward the revolution in China were also different. Among them the overseas Cantonese constituted the major supporters to revolution than others. Because Canton were not only more open to outside and revolutionary, but also many of them who went abroad kept anti-Manchou purpose. Also as a Cantonese Sun Yat-sen with his revolutionary idea obtained more recognization than others.
