Novel"Distant Era" is a garnet masterpiece by Lebanon, the famous contemporary Vietnamese Military Writer. The novel mainly describes about all sorts of twists and unfair that the hero Jiang Ming Chai encountered in the military, family, love, marriage after the war against the United States and of national reunification. Through Jiang Ming Chai, the novel reflects Vietnam’s social life and the concept of people’s spirit in two different changing times, namely peaceful and war years. Embodied in the novel is not only the military person as well as peasant Jiang Ming Chai’s tragedy of love, but also a psychological problems that a rural youth faces when entering the new life and era.
