Her earned degrees include the Ph.D., Sam Houston State University (1988), the Masters of Criminal Justice (1985) and Bachelors of Criminal Justice (1984) from Louisiana State University. Her research areas include victims of crime, victimology, fear of crime, and violent crime. She is the author, co-author, or co-editor of six books: Victims of Crime;(w/Robert Jerin, Nelson-Hall, 1998), American Prisons: An Annotated Bibliography (w/Elizabeth McConnell, Greenwood Press, 1998), Current Issues in Victimology Research (w/Robert Jerin, Carolina Academic Press, 1998), Criminal Justice Technology in the 21st Century, 2nd edition (forthcoming, 2005), Policing and Victims (Prentice Hall, 2002) and Controversies in Victimology (Anderson Publishing Company, 2003). She also has published over 45 scholarly articles, book chapters, and non-refereed articles. |
