Abstract:The major significance and role of extra-curriculum activities lie in the fact that they are not only a supplement to and extension of the classroom teaching of English but also an effective means to improve learner's linguistic performance. In addition, they can also provide genuine opportunities for students to develop the awareness of involvement in campus activities and to bring their various potentials into full play. As a result, both their linguistics performance and their self-confidence and personality get enhanced. The actual experience from the authors' practice in organizing such activities speaks for itself.
