| 摘 要： | 1877年,清廷设领新加坡,以此为嚆矢,历经艰难曲折,相继在华民聚居的海外通商大埠设置了领事。考之晚清驻外领事的籍贯,无论出驻人数还是人次,粤籍领事均遥遥领先,此并非历史的偶然,实乃时势使然,本文拟就其原因做一初步探析。

| Abstract: | Qing Dynasty established consulate in Singapore in 1887,and sent plenty of consuls to overseas commercial ports that have had numerous Chinese people by means of overcoming many difficulties after that.Guangdong natives built up a commanding lead in terms of both quantity and person-time for research on the Birthplace of Overseas Consuls.It is not historical accident,but the trend of the times makes it so.This paper tries to analyze the reasons of this phenomenon. |
