Local Industrial Upgrading and Imbalance of 'Foreign-Export-Processing Mode'--The Case of Suzhou

Different from export-oriented model in Japan and Korea,'Foreign-export-processing Mode' is selected by absorbing FDI in the Chinese littoral areas,and Suzhou is a representative of that.The case of Suzhou indicates this kind of mode can accelerate local industrialization,though it can induce dualistic economy and industrial hollowing.So it is necessary to attach importance to developing local corporation,enhancing innovation and developmental ability of local corporations,and realizing a balance between traditional and high-tech industries.
