A Theoretical Analysis of Cultural Diplomacy

Cultural diplomacy is an effective approach of diplomacy, which plays a role of promoting mutual understanding and trust among nations and peoples, constructing and improving the international prestige and soft power of a state. It boasts the three attributes of mutuality, protracted nature and integrity. Cultural diplomacy is characterized by its focus on two-way exchanges and mutual understanding, which are very different from public diplomacy and cultural relations. The analysis of cultural diplomacy should be aimed to build a harmonious world instead of retracing its demonstrations in the Cold War.
