Following is transcript of an interview given by Li Dezhu, minister in charge of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of China, on measures taken by the Chinese Government in recent years to promote the economic, political, cultural and educational development in the interest of China＇s ethnic minority groups and of the areas they live in compact communities. The minister also talked about how China＇s ethnic minorities＇ lawful rights and interests are protected and what the Chinese Government has been doing to ensure development and prosperity for all the ethnic groups in the country.
