The Approaches to the Development of Modern Long-Distance Education in the Western Regions of China--the Example of Yunnan in Its Plan and Practice of Modern Long-Distance Education

In the course of the large-scale development of the western regions of China, governments . educational departments, universities, and different circles from the society of the western regions have all shared a general idea as to the promotion of long-distance education. Yunnan enjoys unique advantages in this cause. Meanwhile, challenges are on also the way. Further studies of the approaches to this practice will help to diminish the educational gaps between towns and villages and between the western and eastern regions of China, which will in turn propel the social progress.
