| Abstract: | Stories of Officials Loyal to the Reign of the Ming Emperors,included in Yongle Canon,was started in the period of Hongwu,in the early Ming Dynasty.To cater to Zhu Yuangzhang's political need,the book was intended to present a number of loyalists as fine examples for officials and generals to follow.It was written in a vivid story form so as to make it easier for those generals who were not well educated.So in this sense,Stories of Officials Loyal to the Reign of the Ming Emperors can be called a history like novel. |
