本对心理学理论与应用关系的现代和后现代的两种对立观点进行了概括和分析，认为处于现代和后现代性双重夹击下的心理学发展，既要继续贯彻实证主义原则，又必须对后现代主义心理学倾向做出积极的回应，重新定位心理学理论与应用的关系。心理学研究无需在现代和后现代性之间作出非此即彼的强制性选择。建立心理学的中层理论是正确处理心理学理论与应用的关系，减少它们之间相互分离的一种恰当方法。

Contradictory Viewpoints of the Modern and the Postmodern Theories on Relationship between Psychological Theories and Practice

This article discusses two different viewpoints of the modern and the postmodern theories on relationship between psychological theory and practice,pointing out that:(1)psychological research should follow positivism principles and consider the criticism of postmodern psychologist to modern psychology as well at the same time;(2)psychology should redefine the theory practice relationship of psychology;(3)psychologists need not make a forced choice between the modern and the postmodern viewpoints in their psychological researches;(4)a good way to deal with the relationship between psychological theories and practice is to establish an middle ground psychological theory.
