On the Readjustment of Foreign Policy by Manmohan Singh's Government

After an elapse of nine years,the Congress Party regained political power in India.This paper reexamines the peripheral situations before and after the general election as well as the views and opinions in India regarding the government's foreign policy.The readjustment made in its foreign policy with respect to its neighbors concerning its relations with other South Asian countries,China,US and the nonalignment movement is an indication of the characteristics and trends of Indian diplomacy in the 21st century.The policy being more flexible and pragmatic is a full reflection of India's independent principle of foreign policy and its values.
