Abstract: | While economic and trade relations between the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong are becoming closer, it will be inevitable to occur large numbers of cases of crossborder bankruptcy. Before Hong Kong's return to China in 1997, there occurred in the Mainland quite a few cases of bankruptcy involving Hong Kong companies, such as the case of bankruptcy of Nanyang Textiles Co., Ltd., the case of Liwan District Construction Engineering_Co., Ltd. in Guangzhou City versus Hong Kong Europe-America China Real Estate Co., Ltd. and the case of bankruptcy of the Shenzhen branch of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International. |
