日僧南浦绍明与径山禅茶文化

南宋嘉定年间，径山被列为五山十刹之首，成为“天下东南第一释寺”。许多日本禅僧纷纷慕名前来径山参禅问道，径山禅寺成为日本临济宗的祖庭。南浦绍明不仅勤习佛禅，而且认真考察学习径山种茶、制茶技术及茶宴礼仪，回国后广为传播。南浦绍明是继圆尔辨圆之后在日本传播径山禅茶文化的著名禅僧，为中日文化交流史作出了突出贡献。

Japanese Monk Nanpushaoming and Jingshan Tea Culture

During the Jiading Era in Southern Song Dynasty, Jingshan ranked first among the Five Mountains and Ten Temples, and, surrounded with jungles, it became “No. 1 Buddhist Temple in the Southeast of China”. Thereafter, with great admiration, many Japanese Buddhists came here in succession and sat in deep meditation. Thus Jingshan Temple became a Zen site for Linji (a Japanese Ancestor). Before leaving Japan, Nanbosyomyo studied under the direction of Lanxi Daolong, a famous Song Dynasty Chinese Zen master who was visiting Japan. Recommended by Lanxi Daolong, Nanbosyomyo made his pilgrimage to China in the First Year of Emperor Lizong, and visited the famous temples in both West and East Zhejiang before calling on Kidochiku of Jingci Temple in Hangzhou. In 1265, Nanbosyomyo followed Kidochiku to Jingshan Temple, where he lived for three years among his nine-year stay in Song Dynasty, was thoroughly enlightened and became heir to Kidochiku. Before Nanbosyomyo left for Japan, Kidochiku and many other accomplished monks wrote him poems as farewell presents. After returning to Japan, Nanbosyomyo spread widely what he brought back from China, including Buddhist culture and tea culture, and made outstanding contributions to the history of cultural communication between China and Japan.
