统计资料表明,不同国家、不同时期经济与犯罪的联系形式多种多样,这使二者关系之“正相关说”和“反相关说”都难以成立。而“弱相关说”或“不相关说”也易被误解为二者没有重要联系。实际上,若把视角移至私有经济比重和经济发展类型上,就会发现经济对于犯罪的作用极其重大,彼此之逻辑关联也很确切。其中最显著的是,犯罪水平和走势都主要由私有经济比重所决定,规模扩张型经济的发展一般都会引起犯罪增加等,尽管在政治、人口、文化等因素影响下也有例外。
