Analysis of cause of death following traumatic subarachnoid haemorrhage after drunk

Medicolegal examination of a case with traumatic subarachnoid haemorrhage(TSAH) afterexcessive drinking was reported.By reviewing the recent literatuse, the problems about the concept of TSAH, its pathogenesis and the cause of the death,especially about the impact made bythe excessive drinking on TSAH were discussed.The differentiation of TSAH from contusivesubarachnoid haemorrage and pathologic subarachnoid haemorrage were expounded,and thatTSAH should be treated as a kind of separate brain injury was suggested.Moreover,it is essential in the medicolegal appraisement to refer to the method recommended by WHO to analyse the cause of death,and to take into account all the factors related to the death,and to clarify the responsibilities of these factors.In this way,the scientific evidences can be produced for the forensic investigation and conviction.
