加拿大华人新移民的变迁

1980年至2001年间加拿大华人新移民,与以往的加拿大华人移民相比,呈现出明显的异质性特征。在加拿大移民史上,华人新移民的特征变迁,不仅反映了加拿大的移民政策,同时也被这些移民政策所塑造,华人新移民异质性与加拿大政府的依时性移民选择政策密切相关。另外,华人新移民的阶段性流动特征,是华人移民史上的特殊推力因素所造就的。不同的华人移民次群体之间,在社会性和人力资本方面具有多样性差异,不同的华人新移民群体的阶段性流动导致加拿大华人新移民的异质性本质。加拿大移民选择政策和华人新移民的阶段性流动,共同对加拿大华人新移民的异质性变迁产生了双重影响。

The Changing Face of Chinese Immigrants in Canada

In comparison with the previous Chinese immigrants,the Chinese immigrants in Canada,arrived between 1980 and 2001,embrace the remarkable characteristic of heterogeneousness. In the history of immigration in Canada,the changing characteristics of Chinese immigrants to Canada not only reflected but also were shaped by Canada＇s immigration policies,namely the heterogeneous characteristic of Chinese immigrants to Canada is bound up with the time-dependent selection system in Canada＇s immigration policies. Furthermore,the unique push factors that drove Chinese from their home country are the important causes which nurture their characteristics of episodic flows,and the different subgroup of immigrants own apparent diversities in terms of social and human capital characteristics which herein means that the episodic immigrant flows of Chinese create the heterogeneousness of Chinese immigrants to Canada. In sum the Canada＇s immigration policies and episodic immigrant flows of Chinese to Canada deliver the double influences on transformation of Chinese immigrants to Canada.
