美国纽约华人家庭语言认同的代际差异

文章通过问卷和访谈等方法调查美国纽约地区华人家庭中不同年龄成员的家庭用语选择及语言认同的差异,并且借由此共时语言状况来推测华人社区不同语言(方言)在未来的发展趋势。研究数据表明:纽约华人的主要家庭语言正逐渐被汉语标准语和英语所取代,而随着代际的增长,纽约华人在语言和文化方面被"美国化"的程度也越深。

Generational Differences in Language Identity of Chinese in New York of America

New York is one of the cities where the America Chinese lives. The city keeps the earliest districts that overseas Chinese located such as the traditional Chinatown in Manhattan. At the same time it is in the stage of the formation of new community of overseas Chinese such as Eighth Ave and Fala Sheng Chinese community. It also witnesses the changing of linguistic culture of the early American Chinese and new immigrants. In the families of overseas Chinese in New York,the family members of different ages have difference in language selection and language identity. From the languages used by overseas Chinese in New York,the main family languages are Mandarin and English. With the increasing generation,the overseas Chinese are more and more Americanisation in language and culture.
