Revolution of Human Rights and Human Rights in Revolution

This paper outlines Robespierre' s principal views on human rights, analyzes the inner conflicts existing in the opinions of Robespierre on human rights, and focuses on the reasons which caused the great disparity between Robespierre s ideal of human rights and his practice on human rights in the historical context of French Revolution. The author believes that the tragedy caused by Robespierre' s views on human rights is not only related to his thoughts of populism and moral idealism, but also related to the fact that the human rights at that time were the one in the revolution, which were fresh erupted from a human rights revolution.
