文莱经济发展经历了从较为单一的资源经济到多元经济结构转变的过程.殖民时期,文莱经济发展主要取决于石油和天燃气的开采,其经济主导权掌握在英国殖民公司之手.独立后,文莱重视民族经济的发展,将经营多种产业纳入国家发展计划,并取得一定成效,但在参与经济全球化的进程中,文莱仍面临来自本国内部以及外部经济环境的双重挑战.

On the Road of Brunei's Diversified Economic Development

Brunei economic development has experienced a transition from a relatively single resource economy to a diversified one. In colonial period, Brunei economic development mainly depended on the exploitation of oil and natural gas, and the economic sovereignty was controlled by the British Colonial Company. After independence, Brunei has attached great importance to the economic development, bringing industry development into line with its national development plan, and has made some progress. But in its participation in the globalization of economy, Brunei faces the double challenges from internal an external economic environment.
