On Three Generations of Leadership's Policy Toward Taiwan

Policy toward Taiwan by the three generations of leadership of the CCP is the theoretical guidance in solving the problem of Taiwan and in accomplishment of unifying China.The formulation of the policy "peaceful liberation of Taiwan" in the middle of the 1950s, the forming of the guiding principle "peaceful unification, one country with two systems" in the 1980s and the eight propositions toward Taiwan in the middle of the 1990s demonstrate that three generations of leadership all attach most importance to the interests of the country and the people. It is the wise choice of the communist party in dealing with the unification of the country and it is a choice that conforms to the historical trend of the times.
