关于乡镇行政区划调整的若干思考——以湖北省咸宁市咸安区乡镇撤并为个案

湖北省咸安区为了贯彻党中央、国务院关于减轻农民负担、精简机构、降低管理成本的相关精神,开展了以乡镇撤并为主要内容的行政区划调整工作,取得了显著绩效。但其间也存在着若干问题,如:加剧了乡镇工作人员精减与公共事务增长之间的矛盾、基层民主建设面临一系列挑战、乡镇规模扩大给老百姓办事带来不便等问题。
