The Implementation of Mild and Severe Punishments within the English Criminal Policy of Community Sentences

A community sentence,which consists of several different types of community orders,is a fundamental and commonly used facet of the English criminal punishment system.In order for offenders' punishments and reforms to be effective,England has sought to integrate the systems of mild and severe punishments within community sentences.This article discusses the structures and objectives of the six main community orders in English criminal law,and will convey the efficacy,effects and achievements,thus far,of community sentences.
