构建服务型公安机关是政府改革和社会发展的需要.为民服务活动有利于提升公安机关服务社会的能力；有利于提高公安机关执法为民的能力；有利于打造高效、廉洁的公安机关形象.在现阶段,公安机关应该通过加强民警核心价值观教育,强化“立警为公、执法为民”思想；拓宽对民警的业务培训,提升服务社会的工作能力和水平；以从优待警为载体,激励民警工作士气等途径,继续深化公安机关的服务职能.
