法律绩效评估的回应机制，就是特定的国家机关针对法律绩效评估报告中提出来的问题，采取特定方式作出回复或反应的具体运作过程。法律绩效评估主体对法律绩效进行评估时，发现法律法规在实施过程中存在一些问题，而这些问题主要涉及法律本身存在的缺陷，因而针对这些缺陷提出了完善的建议。但是这些建议必须通过一定程序进入立法议程，并最后通过立法程序实现从“法律修正案”到“法律”的转变，只有这样才实现了法律绩效评估的真正目的。
