| Abstract: | In the Qing Dynasty （1644-1912）, legal advisors were real manipulators in local judicial adjudication. Relying on their abundant experience gained from professional study and judicial practice, they founded a unique pattern in handling cases： they attached importance both on law and Confucian classical works; they pursued leniency as well as treacherousness; they demanded irrefutable evidence but they also knew how to distort truth skillfully. The legal advisors played a key role in inheriting and developing the legal culture of the Qing Dynasty. |
