| Abstract: | Objective To compare QIAGEN MagAttract○ R DNA Mini M48 kit and DNeasy○ R plant Mini kit in DNA extraction from sweat fingerprints.Methods DNA on 16 pairs of fingerprints was extracted using QIAGEN MagAttract○ R DNA Mini M48 kit and DNeasy○ R plant Mini kit respectively,and then the extract was analyzed.Results A significant increase in DNA recovery was noted by using QIAGEN MagAttract○ R DNA Mini M48 kit as compared to DNeasy○ R plant Mini kit（pared t-test：α=0.05,t=3.45,γ=15,0.002p0.005）.Conclusion The QIAGEN MagAttract○ R DNA Mini M48 kit was more effective for DNA recovery from sweat latent fingerprints compared with the DNeasy○ R plant Mini kit. |
