A Tentative Research on the Legislation for Education Reform in the Transitional Era of the Late Qing Dynasty

At the turn of the twentieth century, when practicing its “new deal,” the government of the Qing Dynasty enacted a set of laws for education such as school education, overseas education as well as educational administration, which marks the sprouting of the modern legal system for education. Thus, in this article, the author reviews the social historical motivation and the characteristics of legislation for education and, makes a research on the historical influence and its limitations.
