Taiwan＇s Public Opinion Trend under the Harmonious Relationship between the Two Sides of the Taiwan Straits

Beijing＇s Taiwan policy has been continued and stable after the 18th Congress of Communist Party of China, and cross-Strait relations have also been worked towards peaceful development. Thus it should be the cross-Straits relations ＂opportunity period＂. But after 2008 when the KMT won the power again, the issues of ＂national identity＂ and ＂reunification versus independence dispute＂ show ＂the Taiwanese identity ＂ and ＂pro-independence＂ in polls, which are higher than any period of the past eight years under DPP rule. Why the improvement of cross-Strait relations does contribute to the sense of separation in Taiwan？ The author tries to interpret this weirdness, and finally find out： the questionnaires in polls are designed un-properly, and interpreting through the different perspective will vary the poll＇s results.
