The Impacts of AIDS on Female Senior Citizens

Elderly women are equally susceptible to HIV infection.In fact,the number of HIV-infected elderly women has been on the increase.When their children fall victim to HIV infection,the effects on them are equally serious.In such cases in many developing countries,they also have to play the important role of caring for and supporting their children living with AIDS.The impacts of AIDS on female senior citizens,who are in disadvantaged position in terms of age and gender,have aroused little or no attention among researchers,decision-makers and the general public.For this reason,it is imperative to understand the impacts of AIDS on female senior citizens and study the corresponding measures to be taken.
