治安学学科专业的建设已经有了一定的基础,但仍存在一些困惑和深层次的问题制约学科的进一步发展.主要体现在对研究对象的准确表述、与相关学科之间的关系、学科的边界范围等关键问题在理论上还不清楚,知识总量也明显不足.治安学的发展必须进一步明确学科定位、准确表述治安学的研究对象、规范学科研究范围,并积极学习与借鉴国外相关领域的研究成果.

There have been some perplexities and problems in the deep level which restrict this discipline development , although some progresses were gotten in reconstructing the profession of public order subject in recent years. They are follows: how to express exactly the research objective of this discipline, what relations are between public order discipline and some subjects closed, how to define clearly its range, so on.
