To make a correct judgement on honor and disgrace necessitates a thorough understanding of their nature and origin on the basis of the good or evil behavior of people. Historically, honor and disgrace originate from the specific social living conditions and economic relations, so their meanings vary with the changed historical conditions. Under conditions of market economy, moral education concerning honor and disgrace should be based on the principle of morality before interest, public interests before personal gains and giving before taking.
