An Analysis of the Social Function of Christian Belief of Some Ethnic Groups in Yunnan

A few ethnic groups in Yunnan abandoned their primitive religions and converted to Christianity. Since then, the social status and roles of these ethnic people have gone through many changes, which, of course, owes much to the strong influence of Christianity on their communities. Generally, the Christian churches play multiple roles as social administrators. The close connection between ethnic people and Christianity has produced positive as well as negative effects on the society, which requires attention on the part of governmental functional departments.
