The Spread of Islamic Extremism in Southeast Asia: Causes,Influences and Solutions

Islamic extremism uses Islam to express its demands and incite violence. Its proliferation in the world has triggered a wave of terrorism, seriously disrupting international and regional order. The infiltration of the Islamic extremism, the strengthening of the perception of the external threat of Muslims, and the misconduct of some countries in the region have promoted the continued activeness of Islamic extremism in Southeast Asia. The spread of Islamic extremist ideology in Southeast Asia has promoted regional terrorism to become active, seriously worsening the political ecology and security situation of various countries. For this reason, suppression and elimination of Islamic extremist ideology has become a key measure for Southeast Asian countries to combat terrorism and maintain security and stability. To achieve the goal of "de-extremization", we must not only cut off the channels of Islamic extremist ideology infiltration and promote the spirit of multi-existence of Islam, but also actively explore modern patterns that adapt to the needs of local values and political development, so as to achieve ethnic integration and religious harmony.
